More than 16,700 MW of solar farms are in operation across Vietnam today. Most of these photovoltaic panels were installed during the boom years of 2019 to 2021, and each one will eventually reach the end of its useful life through ageing, storm damage, early degradation or repowering programs. Over their full lifecycle this fleet represents about 1.2 million tonnes of panels to be treated.
