EPR regulation
Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) turns solar panel recycling from a green option into a legal obligation. Here is what the law says, who is concerned, and how to comply.
The law in plain words
Articles 54 and 55 establish EPR: producers and importers become responsible for recycling and treating their end-of-life products.
The list of covered products and mandatory recycling rates are set. Electrical and electronic equipment, including photovoltaic panels, is subject to the recycling obligation from January 1, 2025.
The EPR regime is amended and clarified: updated declaration and contribution procedures.
The new reference text consolidates all recycling obligations from 2026 onwards.
Are you concerned?
Directly responsible for the recycling obligation for every panel placed on the Vietnamese market.
Involved in the take-back chain and in providing proof to their clients and suppliers.
Holders of the end-of-life stock: your suppliers need a certified channel to meet their own obligations.
The three compliance paths
Organise your own recycling to the required standards.
Make a financial contribution to the state fund (VEPF).
Entrust your panels to an industrial operator that issues proof of treatment.
Complying with RENEVALIS
A recycling certificate per batch, sealed on RENEVALIS TRACK, valid before the authorities.
The full traceability log of every panel, from pick-up to final treatment.
Consolidated data, ready for your EPR declarations and annual ESG reports.
General, non-contractual information; not legal advice. Regulations evolve: consult your legal counsel in Vietnam for your precise obligations.
